Experts question practices in Allegheny County contested adoption case

Adam Pertman, the founder of the National Center on Adoption and Permanency, called that “problematic.”

“If you don’t check references, you might not find out something really important. It simply has to be done,” he said. “Someone who is evil and doesn’t want you to find out could put down fake references, and no one would ever know.”
